Arsenal E' Vega truly holds court on "Ashes To Snow",
As expected from someone who spent a significant amount of time on lyrical content, "Ashes To Snow" beat selection is excellent. LEXI BANKS's and the other producer's touch is also likely a factor here, as the sequencing is also on point, and the drops are noticeable but not invasive. “Tree Of Life” offers more soulful, melodic offerings than previous mixtapes. Arsenal E Venga is amorphous, switching from his standard cadence to fit in with the current ratchet, turn up scene (“Illuminati Money,” “Armageddon”) and revisiting his angst-ridden, rapping/crying hybrid flow from “Make It Vibe” It’s an effective tool, when used in small doses.
Tracks like “Anti Christ” and "Lords of The Underground" is equally powerful, as The artist addresses his Character. Such songs help balance out the Rap/HipHop material, and push the overall mixtape into superior territory. Arsenal E' Vega sounds like someone completely comfortable in his own skin
So after all this time, exactly what is inside the mind of Arsenal E' Vega? It turns out to be a hell of a lot. "Ashes To Snow" essentially serves as the hook of the highest order. It’s an inclusive affair fueled by catchy hooks, accessible production and subject matter that is either sophomoric or deeply meaningful. Arsenal’s raw technical ability to bend multi-syllable bars at his mercy and selected moments of social commentary keep things from bordering on flat out shtick.
The key to enjoying Arsenal E' Vega's latest may ultimately lie in the listener’s ability to know when to suspend their belief in reality and just enjoy the ride.
